Sumartin is the youngest and easternmost town on the island of Brac. In the past, the population only engaged in seafaring, fishing and shipbuilding and you can see the signs of those trades even today. A small shipyard is still active, and there you can see from the first hand the process of repairing the fishing vessels or buy freshly caught fish. Sumartin is an idyllic small town in the heart of pristine nature in the immediate vicinity of several hidden coves with sand and pebble beaches, such as Rasotica, Zukovik, Radovnja, Studena, Zvirje and Spilice where you can enjoy the intimate surroundings. Sumartin is also connected to the mainland by Makraska ferry line with rides five times a day in the summer. The ride takes about an hour. If you prefer day trips, definitely take advantage of this benefit. The proximity of Bol (about 24 km) is another reason for organizing trips and enjoying one of the most beautiful beaches on the Adriatic.
