How to reach Bol on the island of Brac

During the summer months Bol is well connected with the mainland.
If you are traveling to Bol by plane, you can take advantage of the airport on the island  approximately 10 kilometres away from the town of Bol. If you are using the Split airport Resnik, you will have to travel from mainland by ferry, catamaran or hydrofoil.  Link for the Split airport can be found here.

Good railway connection with major European cities and Croatian capital Zagreb provides also a good connection with Split. Driving from Zagreb to Split will take about 5.30 hours. Given the fact that the train station is 5 minutes of walking from the port you will quickly reach the ferry, catamaran or hydrofoil that you must take for further travel. The ferry arrives to Supetar, while the catamaran goes directly to Bol. Traveling with a ferry takes 50 minutes and costs 33 kunas per person, while the catamaran trip lasts about 1 hour and costs 40 kunas. Croatian Railways timetable can be found here.

If traveling by car, from the north, you can expect 380 km of highway from Zagreb to Split. If you decide to use the highway the journey will take about 3.5 hours, and the pay toll will cost you about 25 Euros (price list). If you want to avoid paying the toll, you can use the old Adriatic road through Karlovac-Gračac-Knin, which will take about 5 hours of your time. For detailed information about the conditions on the roads you click here. If you are arriving by car from the south, you can take a ferry from Makarska which will bring you to Sumartin on the island (the trip takes about 1 hour / ticket 4.5 euro per person), then you have another additional 29 kilometers of road to reach Bol.
When you arrive to the Split ferry port, take a ferry to Supetar and then continue driving for 39 kilometers towards Bol. It is important to emphasize that the ferry ride takes about 50 minutes and ferries from both directions depart every hour, the ticket costs 4.5 Euros per person, and there is a discount for children. Information on the schedule can be found at Jadrolinija web pages.
After arriving to Supetar you can reach the coach station on foot in just 5 minutes. There you will see a list of all scheduled lines to other settlements on the island. A bus to Bol takes about 1.15 h because it stops on every station, and the price is 40kn.  Also, taxi service will await you in Supetar, so you can continue your journey in this way also, and the journey will last much shorter, about 40 minutes to Bol. Furthermore, you can rent a car or a motorcycle, and information can be obtained at the Tourist Board, which is located within the ferry dock.
If you are arriving to Bol by boat a rapid coastal line connects Rijeka, Split, Korcula and Dubrovnik. Given that Split is the largest port in the Middle Adriatic, connections with major Italian ports are excellent.
By coach you can also reach Brac without much complication because of the exceptional connectivity of Split with all major European cities. After arriving in Split proceed further by ferry, catamaran or hydrofoil. The distance from the coach station to the ferry port is 5 minutes of walking. For coach timetables click here.
